NZ Post’s Update on Perishables during Cyclone Gabrielle
Cyclone Gabrielle continues to bring adverse weather conditions to the Upper North Island, causing delays for parcel and mail deliveries in and out of these areas.
We have prioritised as many priority and perishable items as possible and implemented contingency plans using alternative road routes where possible. However, many perishable items will still be delayed, as the air network has been cancelled overnight, and we are unable to transport and carry out deliveries to impacted areas.
We are asking that customers do not send Perishable items in or out of the following areas:
Northland
Auckland
Coromandel
Bay of Plenty
Gisborne
Between the North and South Islands
We will notify you when usual perishable sending resumes in these areas.
Please be advised that the delivery of perishable items may be impacted for a number of days, depending on weather and road network conditions. We are continually implementing contingency plans, to ensure parcels reach their destinations as safely and quickly as possible.
Find the latest updates on our Domestic Delivery updates page, and locate parcels through our online parcel tracking.
Please help us to keep our Customer Contact Centre for business critical enquiries only.
Thank you for your support and patience as we work through this together.
